Truly The Product Of A Sick Mind

The genesis of Delirium Records arose from a lack of industry interest in the most basic of band inceptions, the garage band. The staff at Delirium Records joke that if it were possible to drive up and down suburban streets listening for each neighborhoods garage band, they would. Delirium Records is looking to assist in the building of a new music scene and the birth of a new generation of live music performers. The staff at Delirium Record donate their time and money to bring about this change.

From the very beginning one of the priorities of Delirium Records was to embody a characteristic that many small independent labels lack, diversity. The goal is to present all kinds of music for all ages, from punk to folk to techno to yet unnamed brands of music. The common thread of all Delirium records artists is good songwriting, the willingness to work vey hard and the desire to enjoy their music.

The problem is that record companies are driven only by the potential for profit. This is not a new phenomenon, but it's an especially pernicious one today. It's big money and little else. There's very little interest in anything that isn't triple platinum. There's no concern for the artists themselves, or the songs, or just the straight-up love for groundbreaking music. Not anything but the profit margin.

Delirium Records, unlike many large labels, does not try to change the music of their bands and unlike many small labels works closely with the groups to bring about the best possible results. Being musicians and producers themselves, the staff at Delirium Records works with the groups showing them the little things in the music and on stage that makes the difference. Delirium Records considers itself in a partner ship with the groups they work with. Promoting the bands first, then the records. Delirium Records and their artists look to the big picture and do what must be done now to insure success in the long run. As long as there are garage bands with the will to try, there will be Delirium Records.

The Internet and the time is right for a change. It's not unlike that point in the mid-'70s when punk was born. The Internet has changed everything and the toothpaste is not going back into the tube. But let's not kid ourselves; the major label multinational corporations are going with a vengeance at anything that threatens their profit margin. Witness the attacks on MP3 and Napster. Funny that the conglomerates have now bought in to both? The digital age is here. New tools to make music. New ways to distribute it. This new look at how music is delivered to the fans is what Delirium Records is all about. We believe it's all about creativity, quality, and passion for music.

Releasing their first record (The Globe's Hi-Fidelity Garage Pop) in the beginning of 1994. The label currently is working with several new groups. The roster of bands on Delirium Records currently consists of The Globe, The Hoodlumz, Organized Crime, Velvet, Danny Dean and The Homewreckers, The Relatives and Tom Racer
